Mr. Pommet has thirty-five years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry with Nelson Communications, Inc. Mr. Pommet served as Executive Vice President of Nelson Communications for seventeen years and as its President for the past eighteen years, from 1991. Nelson Communications is One of the oldest and most experienced telecommunications consulting firms of its kind in the Northeast, having provided project management and consulting services to over 2,000 organizations in higher education, healthcare, medical research, business and government . Nelson Communications’ core expertise is designing high performance voice, data and video information transport systems. Nelson Communications is one of four companies licensed to provide telecommunications design and consulting services by the State of Massachusetts under state contract ITS43. Nelson is proud of his history of successful and complex projects with the most demanding organizations.
Mr. Pommet is fluent in engineering and architecture and works closely with the client, architect, engineers, and installing/contracting company as a team. He has the ability to fully discuss and understand the client’s technology needs and wants, and then, in turn, develop those defined needs and wants into competitively bid construction and installation documents. He possesses the technological knowledge and business acumen to define needs, solve problems, and plan and complete successful projects. Mr. Pommet’s greatest strength is his ability to synthesize all the moving parts into a cohesive deliverable.

EDUCATION
Mr. Pommet attended Wentworth Institute. Mr. Pommet started his telecommunications in the early 1970’s by installing Code-a-phone answering machines, an emerging technology at the time. He has continued to educate himself ever since through active participation in consultant liaison programs and courses offered through Avaya, Cisco, Verizon, Mitel, NEC and other technology leaders.
INDUSTRY CONSULTANCY
Mr. Pommet has consulted the telecommunications industry for decades. He is an active advisor to John Chambers, CEO of Cisco and formerly of Siemens AG in Germany and NEC, and traveled to Japan to provide insight and expertise on various NEC product launches in the United States.
Recently, Mr. Pommet helped develop an RFP for NJEdge, a $100 million fund to support customized high-speed Internet infrastructure for advanced telecommunications and networking technologies linking 45 public and independent higher education institutions, including 3 public research universities, 9 state colleges and universities, 19 community colleges and 14 independent universities with a public mission.
